ALAMO RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR RENTALS IN THE USA

EFFECTIVE - TO MARCH 31ST, 2011

Renter must meet standard age, driver and credit requirements.

1. CURRENCY
United States Dollar for local bills only. Rental charges in UK£

2. MINIMUM AGE

Twenty-one (21) years of age except where state law provides otherwise.

3. AGE RESTRICTIONS
In the State of New York and Michigan the minimum age is eighteen (18) years and for renters and authorized drivers age eighteen through twenty four (18-24), inclusive, an insurance recovery fee of $49.37 per day applies in lieu of an Underage Driver Fee.

4. UNDERAGE FEE
In all states an underage fee of Twenty-five dollars ($25) per day, per driver will apply for renters and additional drivers age twenty-one through twenty-four (21-24), unless otherwise stated.

5. ADDITIONAL DRIVER FEE
An additional fee of up to $10.00 per day, per additional driver will be charged, except where state law provides otherwise. Additional drivers may be required to present a valid license and credit card in their name at the time of rental (In Manhattan locations, additional driver must present a valid credit card and valid license in their name).

6. INFANT SEAT
A fee of $6.99 per day, per infant seat will be charged. Infant seats should be requested at time of reservation. In the event the infant seat is not returned at the end of the rental, a fee will be assessed to the renter.

7. SEATBELTS and CHILD RESTRAINT SEATS
State laws may require the use of seatbelts and child restraint seats. Seatbelts and child restraint seats can save lives. We urge you to use them. To avoid serious injury or even death, use child restraint seats only in the back seat of the vehicle. Older children who do not use child restraint seats should ride properly buckled-up in the back seat. Infant seats should be requested at time of reservation.

8. DRIVING AREAS
Vehicles can be driven in any state in the United States, but must be returned to the location from which they were rented or drop-off charges may apply. Vehicles may not be driven into Mexico. Vehicles rented in Alaska must be returned to Alaska. Vehicles can be driven into Canada but must be returned to the United States unless a pre arranged drop off as been arranged. Canadian residents renting vehicles in the United States may not drive vehicles into Canada. Driving on unpaved roads voids Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage.

9. FUEL POLICY
Unless fuel in included in the pre paid tour product a full tank of gas is purchased at the time of rental. The Service is convenient because the renter does not have to worry about taking time to stop and refuel before returning the car (there is no credit for remaining fuel).

10. TAXES AND FEES
Unless otherwise stated, taxes, including VLF taxes in California, other governmentally authorized or imposed surcharges, concession recoupment fees, airport & facility fees and optional items (such as CDW Waiver Savers, fuel, additional driver fee and drop charges) are extra. Concession recoupment fees may add up to 20% to the rental rate at some on-airport locations. Airport fees may add up to 20% to the rental rate at some off airport locations. Payment for all of these additional items is the responsibility of the customer, unless otherwise specified on the rate sheets.

Rates may not included Customer Facility Charges (CFC) which is payable, where applicable, by the customer at time of rental.

Legislation, regulation or the cost of fuel may affect Alamo’s pricing or procedures. On all inclusive products, Alamo reserves the right, without notice to (i) charge customers at the time of rental or thereafter, for the amount of any additional or increased surcharges, fees, taxes or increased fuel costs incurred subsequent to entering into this Agreement or (ii) increase Client’s tax, surcharge or fuel inclusive rates by an amount equivalent to the additional or increased tax, surcharge or fuel cost subsequent to entering into this Agreement.

11. ONE WAY RENTALS
All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. Drop-off charges may apply, payable at time of rental. Refer to Exhibit “C” for pricing exceptions.

12. METHODS OF PAYMENT
Credit Cards – Alamo accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, and Discover credit cards.

Cash Rentals: All cash rentals must meet Alamo’s current standard cash qualification requirements. When making a reservation for a cash rental, Client should contact Alamo for information on Alamo’s current cash qualification requirements, which does include presenting a valid passport and roundtrip airline ticket at time of rental. Cash Qualifications may vary by location and are subject to change. Some locations may require a credit card at the beginning of the rental and the customer can pay cash upon return.

Cash customers are required to leave a deposit as follows:

  • If vouchered: $25/daily and $100/weeky in addition to any charges not covered by the voucher.
  • If not vouchered: $50/daily and $200/weekly in addition to any charges not covered by the voucher.
  • Deposits for rentals in New York shall only be made in the form of Cashiers Check, Travelers Check or Money Order.

13. IDENTIFICIATION REQUIRED FOR RENTAL
A full and valid Driver’s License from country of origin, Passport and credit card in renters name. If the Driver’s License is not legible or translated into English and International Drivers License must be provided.

14. COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)
If included in the rate booked, CDW contractually waives or limits the renters responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle. Standard Rental Agreement terms and conditionals apply.

15. LIABILITY PROTECTION (LP)
All Inclusive rates provides the renter and authorized drivers with a combined single limit of $1,000,000 for third party claims that may be made by others against the renter and authorized drivers for bodily injury, death and/or property damage arising out of the use or operation of the Alamo rental vehicle and subject to the limitations set forth in the applicable Alamo then standard rental contract and in the insurance policy which provides coverage. Also included in LP is Uninsured Motorist/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) protection with a combined single limit of $100,000. UM/UIM provides benefits to the renter and any family member related by blood, marriage, or adoption, who, while physically occupying Alamo’s rental vehicle when it is being driven by the renter or an authorized driver, suffers bodily injury or death caused by negligent uninsured motorist, negligent underinsured motorists or a negligent hit-and-run driver. Except for UM/UIM and unless required by law, LP excludes any protection afforded under: first party benefits; personal injury protection; medical payments and no-fault. Insurers and policy terms are subject to change without prior notice to Customer

16. OVERSTAY FEE
If a customer extends the rental any time after the vehicle has been picked up at the rental location, regardless if an additional voucher is presented, a fee of $10.99 per day will be assessed in addition to the applicable rates. These fees will be payable by the customer.

17. GPS (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM)
GPS navigational systems are available at an additional cost per day and are subject to availability.

18. GRACE PERIOD
Alamo offers a 29 minute grace period on all rentals. If a customer extends the rental any time after the vehicle has been picked up at the rental location and overstay fee as described above will be accessed.

19. RESERVATION REQUIRMENTS
The following information is required at time of reservation for all Voucher and E-Voucher bookings: Voucher ID Number, Number of Voucher days and car type. The number of voucher days and car type on the reservation will be the values used to bill the client.

20. SKI RACKS
Ski racks, if required, must be requested at the time of reservation and are $7.50 per day.

21. VOUCHERS
If a customer with a prepaid rental returns the vehicle prior to the end of the reserved period, no credit will be given for the unused portion of the Vouchered or E-Voucher.

22. ROADSIDE PLUS (RSP)
RSP is available in all US locations. RSP is void and of no effect if, at the time of the incident necessitating roadside assistance, the renter (or an Authorized Driver) were in violation of the rental agreement, including, without limitation, the Prohibited Uses and Violations set forth therein. In such cases, roadside assistance will be available, but standard charges may apply. RSP includes the following:

  • Key replacement: replacement keys or a locksmith will be sent
  • Glass replacement: if the glass is damaged through no fault of the renter (or authorized driver), the glass will be replaced
  • Flat Tire: if the vehicle’s spare tire is installed and serviceable, it will be installed to replace a flat tire. If no inflated spare tire is available, the vehicle will be towed in accordance with the towing provision.
  • Tire Replacement: If the vehicle’s tire is damaged, the tire will be repaired or replaced at no additional charge.
  • Towing: Towing charges will be covered at no additional cost should the vehicle be inoperable.
  • Jump start: A battery boost will be provided in an attempt to start the vehicle.
  • Lockout service: If the keys are locked inside the vehicle, service will be sent to gain entrance.
  • Fuel delivery: A limited supply of gasoline will be delivered to the vehicle to enable you to reach the nearest open service station. (Up to three gallons or equivalent liters).
