Itinerary

Day 1 LAS VEGAS
Arrive in Las Vegas and proceed to your hotel. The day is fee to enjoy. Whether it's relaxing at a pool or checking out the action in the casinos, there's plenty to enjoy in the city.

Day 2 LAS VEGAS
This is a day at leisure. Las Vegas is a city that never sleeps. The “Strip” will mesmerize you with its dazzling lights, casino action and opulent hotels with their lavish shows and headline performers. Try your hand with “Lady Luck” or see one of the famous shows. Take the time to visit the well known resorts with their individual themes and a myriad of attractions or just relax poolside.

Day 3 LAS VEGAS – ZION NATIONAL PARK
(170 mi / 275 km)
Leave the glittering, bustling metropolis behind and head into some quiet, magnificent works of nature. On the way, take a short detour and visit Nevada’s oldest State Park, Valley of Fire. The rough floor and jagged walls of the park contain brilliant formations of eroded sandstone and sand dunes that often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. Continue on to Zion National Park, a monument of time carved by wind and water and well known for geological features with names like The Three Patriarchs, Bridge Mountain, White Throne and the hidden Temple of Sinawava.

Day 4 ZION NATIONAL PARK – BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
(85 mi / 136 km)
Should you desire, revisit Zion to see more of this impressive gorge carved by the mighty Virgin River before departure. On the way, make the detour to see Cedar Breaks National Monument with magical rock formations in vivid hues, a foretaste of Bryce Canyon National Park. Continue to Bryce, the land of Hoodoos. There are easy walks offered along the rim or make it a trek and descend into the spires of enchanting Bryce Canyon.

Day 5 BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK – CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK
(136 mi / 219 km)
Head out of the world of “hoodoos” this morning through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument area to Capitol Reef National Park. This park is defined by a nearly 100-mile lone warp in the Earth’s crust, the Waterpocket Fold. The rock layers on the west are 7,000 ft ( 2,134 m) higher than on the east side. Walk around the Capitol Reef area with its beautiful dome structures and Cathedral Valley with the rock formations reminiscent of cathedral structures.

Day 6 CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK – MOAB / ARCHES NATIONAL PARK
(156 mi / 251 km)
Finish exploring the Capitol Reef area and continue north to picturesque Moab and Arches National Park. Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch, as well as many other unusual rock formations. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world.

Day 7 MOAB
Today is a day at leisure. Moab is a great starting point for jeep, plane, whitewater rafting, hiking or canoeing trips in the surrounding parks: Arches National Park, with over 2,000 natural sandstone arches; Canyonlands National Park, with its canyons, arches, spires, buttes and mesas; and Dead Horse Point State Park, with fantastic shapes of precipitous bluffs and towering spires.

Day 8 MOAB / ARCHES NATIONAL PARK – MONUMENT VALLEY / KAYENTA
(166 mi / 268 km)
The road heads south towards Monument Valley. Along the way, there are three possible detours to see some more spectacular scenery. The first is the Needles Overlook, which offers an outstanding view of the Colorado River, the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, and the Indian Creek area. The second stop would be at Canyonlands National Park, with its colorful landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas and buttes by the Colorado River and its tributaries. The third detour leads to Natural Bridges National Monument, which preserves some of the finest examples of natural stone architecture in the southwest. Today’s tour ends in Monument Valley, whose breathtaking views have provided the setting for many classic Western movies.

Day 9 MONUMENT VALLEY / KAYENTA – NAVAJO NATIONAL MONUMENT – PAGE / LAKE POWELL
(123 mi / 198 km)
Take time to enjoy Monument Valley this morning before making a leisurely departure to see the Navajo National Monument, which protects some of the greatest cliff dwellings in Arizona. Continue on to Page and the massive man-made Lake Powell. Learn about life in the early days of the canyon and the building of this remarkable engineering wonder at the Carl Hayden Visitor Center.

Day 10 LAKE POWELL / PAGE – MONUMENT VALLEY – GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
(388 mi / 625 km)
The mileage today includes the popular detour through sparsely populated Indian Country to Monument Valley where isolated monoliths of red sandstone tower 1,000 ft (305 m) above the valley floor. Continue onward to one of the world’s most outstanding spectacles, the magnificent Grand Canyon. Encounter a world of multi-colored hues reflected on the mile deep walls created by the eroding forces of the Colorado River. At sunset be sure to see the fantastic, ever changing panorama of rock formations from Hopi point.

Day 11 GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Sunrise is the perfect time to view the spectacular interplay of color, shadow and light in the horizontal strata of the Grand Canyon. Today is at your leisure to explore the magnificent Canyon which can easily be enjoyed through a leisurely stroll along the rim walkway or if time permits take the plunge and hike down the canyon.

Day 12 GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK – LAS VEGAS
(275 mi / 442 km)
Enjoy the views one last time before crossing the Colorado River and joining pieces of Route 66 on the way to Las Vegas. If time allows before your departure, make a diversion to marvel at the Hoover Dam, one of the highest dams ever constructed. Continue on to Las Vegas.
