DAYS 1 AND 2: BOSTON
Commence your holiday with a two nights stay in the “Athens of America.” Famous for everything from the Red Sox and Paul Revere to Cheers and clam “chowdah,” Boston is a popular destination for so many reasons. Part history lesson, part modern metropolis, the Hub offers attractions to suit every taste and interest. Hop on the Freedom Trail, a well-preserved pedestrian path that weaves in and out of historic neighborhoods. Between landmarks, you can shop the fabulous stores on Newbury Street, have a delicious authentic Italian meal in the North End or browse the antique shops of Beacon Hill. The more culturally inclined will not want to miss the city’s world-class museums, theater and music venues. Family friendly to the core, Boston boasts a renowned aquarium, children’s museum and science museum, making it a great getaway for all. 2 nights Boston.

DAY 3: BOSTON – MID COAST MAINE (112 mi/180 km)
Travel along the North Shore of Massachusetts, through coastal New Hampshire and into Maine. Visit Salem, where the famous witch trials occurred, and Rockport, a gorgeous village that’s an artist’s haven. There’s great outlet shopping at Kittery, Maine before driving to Portland where at the Old Port Exchange there’s a chance to feast on the local specialty – lobster! 1 night Portland

DAY 4: MID COAST MAINE – WHITE MOUNTAINS (107m / 171km)
Head inland via the Maine Lakes District to New Hampshire and the White Mountains. At Mount Washington Valley take a ride on the Conway Scenic Railroad, it’s a great way to see the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. DAY 5: WHITE MOUNTAINS – NORTHERN VERMONT (130m / 208km)

DAY 6: NORTHERN VERMONT
A leisure day for touring the Green Mountain State. Take the short drive to Burlington, perched on the banks of Lake Champlain. Visit the Ethan Allen Homestead to recall the colorful days of the Green Mountain Boys, perhaps a scenic cruise on Lake Champlain or a visit to Shelburne Museum.

DAY 7: NORTHERN VERMONT – CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY (174m /278km)
Drive south to see the quintessential New England village of Woodstock. See the scenic Quechee Gorge, New England’s mini Grand Canyon, before arriving in Massachusetts and the gentle Berkshire Hills. Perhaps visit the Hancock Shaker Village, a restored 19th century settlement and then Lenox, summer home of the Boston Symphony. At Stockbridge, once home to Norman Rockwell, one of America’s greatest artists, The Norman Rockwell Museum, containing many of his works is well worth a visit. 1 night CT River Valley

DAY 8: CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY – NEWPORT (127m / 203km)
Before heading to Newport, you may visit Old Sturbridge Village, a living 19th century museum, or Mystic, Connecticut, and Mystic Seaport Museum, America’s largest maritime museum. Continue to Newport, summer resort of America’s first millionaires. Tour the Cliff Walk and Ten Mile Drive with its extravagant summer mansions. DAY 9: NEWPORT – CAPE COD (75m / 120km)

DAY 10: CAPE COD

DAY 11: CAPE COD – BOSTON (75m / 120km)
Boston’s Logan Airport is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Cape Cod and en-route you’ll have time to visit picturesque Sandwich, the Cape’s oldest town and at Plymouth the Plimoth Plantation, a living museum of 1627 life. Time for lunch before driving to the airport.
